April showers are practically a given, but this seasons rain protection is anything but predictable.
The classic khaki coverup now comes in white with several versions boasting shorter hems and funkier shapes. And by using flirty fabrics such as eyelet and linen, some designers have created styles fit more for a sunny day than a downpour.
"Trenches have been a classic for some time, and people are looking for a fresh new twist," says Alle Fister, founder of Bolare, a fashion and lifestyle communications company. "Different fabrics, textures and styles are all ways to update the wardrobe staple."
