Truly Tasteless Summer Tees

It's no crime to keep a tasteless T-shirt locked inside your closet. It's a crime, though, to let it out--much less inflict it on your co-workers.

“I walked into work on a Friday thinking my polo shirt with a large icon would be fine,” says Edward Sia, 31, a business analyst for a New York City-based nonprofit. “Not only did my co-workers ask if Ralph Lauren were paying me to wear it, but my boss said it was a little too loud.”

At a time when notions of acceptable office wear are fluctuating like the Dow Jones average, workers who wear apparel that's obtrusive, provocative or too casual risk censure.
