Was grad school worth it?

Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t trade my grad school experience in FOR THE WORLD, but I wonder if I would have ended up in the same place without it? My introspection was prompted by a young journalist wanting to apply and asking for my “sagacious” advice… damn that word makes me feel old…
